how to do crochet stitches - pictures for beginners

I find myself staring on the crochet handbags displayed in a store's marquee and these bags are just fabulous that I can't really decide if I were to buy one. Crochet is a great hobby to take up.

Similar to knitting, it is a process of making fabrics from thread or yarn with the use of a crochet hook. So if you are looking for the perfect gift for that special little one, then consider a crochet baby blanket. It can get intimidating, but contains enough stitches that you usually get the hang of each stitch and are ready for the next one.

If you don't know of anybody to help you, jump online and do a search for crochet baby blanket patterns. There are a large variety of patterns and stitches. For instance the first chain, the in use loop on the hook and the to be used stitch running with the row.

Having these books on hand will also walk you through the stitches if you are still in the learning stages. Crochet afghan patterns can be very simple or complex depending on the preference of the crocheter. Most crochet instructions include something called a gauge guide which is something of a practice area that allows you to crochet some stitches.

There are some great resources out there. You can also learn how to incorporate crochet with beads, embroidery and knitting.
