baby afghan double crochet

The word crochet comes from the French croche or croc meaning to hook. And not only is it a hobby that you can have fun with and use your imagination but you can really be industrial with it.

In the 1840s crochet instructions began to be published and so crochet became more popular. By learning a few basic crochet stitches you will be able to make some really nice crochet projects. Many older patterns contained just a picture with just a few of the more complicated sections explained, as a consequence you were expected to work from the picture for the majority of the pattern!

For quite sometime now, crochet style is being used for many types of designs in the industry. It is also quite economical for those who are involved with making crocheted things regularly. These patterns provide complete instructions starting from what type of yarn and hook should be used for the project.

Just get yourself a crochet tote bag (or crochet one yourself) and you are ready to go. I find it very relaxing, a great stress reliever.
